Creotech Instruments S.A., the largest Polish manufacturer of satellites, satellite systems, and components listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, has announced the formation of a new subsidiary set to take over operations in drone applications and satellite data processing. On 29 April 2025, the company’s Management Board resolved to begin work on establishing a simple joint-stock company, fully owned by Creotech Instruments S.A. This entity will eventually assume responsibility for Creotech’s drone and satellite data operations. The transition will include the transfer of both personnel and physical assets. The new subsidiary will be led by Jacek Kosiec, current Vice President of the Management Board of Creotech Instruments. The spin-off is intended to streamline the management of existing drone and satellite data projects, support the acquisition of new ones, and accelerate their deployment. With this step, Creotech will be able to apply the expertise it has built over the past five years more effectively in the marketplace. The new entity is expected to grow rapidly and generate value for the Creotech Instruments Group.
"Our recent acquisition of major satellite projects - Mikroglob and Camilla - has significantly increased the scale of our operations in this field, making parallel activities in other segments more challenging. Today, the satellite segment already accounts for 95% of Creotech Instruments’ revenue, and its dominance is only expected to grow. Meanwhile, our accomplishments in quantum technologies, drone applications, and satellite data processing are significant at the European level and provide a strong foundation for building leading positions in these segments as well. That’s why, following the 16 April announcement of our plans to spin off the quantum technologies segment, we are now moving forward with separating our drone and satellite data business. This move will allow Creotech Instruments to focus on satellite systems while streamlining the management of this key business area. Our goal is to establish a new company capable of delivering new projects in satellite data processing and advancing drone applications, including the Drone Traffic Management system being developed as part of the recently awarded ESA project DTM Tool. The system will enable advanced monitoring and control of drones operating beyond visual line of sight, which is crucial for improving the safety of drone operations. Fear of drone-related accidents remains one of the main barriers to their widespread use, for example in small parcel delivery. The Management Board believes the new subsidiary will be capable of operating independently and will become a valuable part of Creotech Instruments’ asset base."

Several current Creotech Instruments employees from the drone and satellite data division will be transferred to the new company, which also plans to recruit new hardware and software specialists. In its early stages, the new entity will receive administrative and logistics support from Creotech Instruments. The preliminary business plan assumes that, based on existing projects, the company will be cash-flow positive within its first year. Further growth will depend on acquiring additional projects and successfully commercializing solutions developed within the spin-off. In the long term, the new company expects to see strong growth in the drone applications market across both civilian and defense sectors. There are currently no plans to list the new company on the regulated market.
