Creotech Instruments, Poland’s largest manufacturer of satellites, satellite systems and components, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, has received a positive substantive assessment and a recommendation for funding under the ‘European Funds for a Modern Economy’ programme (FENG) – SMART Pathway – for the implementation of a project entitled ‘Conducting research into an innovative satellite system designed for payloads with a high dead weight’. The recommended amount of funding is over PLN 26.2 million.
"The positive assessment of the project by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development will help us significantly accelerate work on the development of a new satellite platform and strengthen our offering in the segment of satellites weighing around 200 kg. SWAN is a natural step in the development of our HyperSat range and forms part of our long-term product strategy. We are consistently expanding the capabilities of our platforms so that they can serve as the basis for complex, multi-mission satellite systems required by both public authorities and demanding commercial customers."

Grzegorz Brona
President of the Management Board of Creotech Instruments
The aim of the project is to develop a multi-mission satellite platform, provisionally named SWAN, designed to carry out space missions with a mass of up to approximately 200 kg. The new platform is intended to strengthen Creotech Instruments’ product portfolio, providing a technological foundation for future large-scale infrastructure projects carried out for security and civil applications. The project is also expected to significantly increase the Company’s product potential in the space technology segment and strengthen its competitiveness on the European and global markets.
Creotech is currently developing observation satellites based on the HyperSat platform. HyperSat SWAN builds on the Company’s proven track record, drawing on the experience gained with platforms dedicated to Earth observation, whilst extending this to a much wider range of applications and higher payload masses. The new platform is designed to enable, amongst other things:
very high-resolution optical missions,
next-generation communications missions, including solutions enabling quantum key distribution,
PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing), supporting positioning, navigation and precise time synchronisation,
other scenarios requiring high configuration flexibility, including the integration of payloads weighing up to 100 kg.
The launch of the SWAN project at this stage is a response to the market’s growing interest in multi-mission satellite platforms, which allow for the installation of heavier payloads. Such platforms can be rapidly adapted to different mission profiles without the need to design each architecture from scratch.
