Creotech Instruments and Unibap AB begin talks on satellite constellation opportunities

Creotech Instruments, a Warsaw Stock Exchange-listed Polish manufacturer of satellites, and satellite systems and components, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sweden’s Unibap AB, a provider of onboard computers and cloud solutions for the space sector. The purpose of the MoU is to explore the possibility of building a satellite constellation for select US and European clients.

Under the agreement, both parties will discuss integrating Unibap’s iX10-102 space computers with Creotech Instruments’ HyperSat platform to create a satellite constellation for clients in the US and Europe. The initial batch is planned to include three satellites equipped with advanced hyperspectral solutions. Eventually, the constellation may be expanded by an additional 17 satellites, with the full system expected to be operational by 2030.

“Collaborating on the integration of our HyperSat platform with Unibap’s advanced space computers is a significant step toward launching an innovative satellite constellation. I hope we will reach an agreement quickly and be able to announce the start of work on the first three satellites soon,”– said Grzegorz Brona, PhD, President of the Management Board (CEO) of Creotech Instruments S.A.

Creotech Instruments specializes in satellite systems and advanced electronics, including for quantum applications. It is the only Polish company with microsatellite manufacturing capabilities, covering satellites from 10 kg to several dozen kg. A significant milestone for the company was the 2024 launch of the EagleEye test microsatellite, based on the company’s proprietary HyperSat platform. The platform supports a wide array of missions, from technological and scientific to observational, telecommunications, and deep space projects. Its modular design allows for scalability of satellites within the 10-60 kg range and potentially even up to 200 kg in the future.
