Creotech Instruments, Poland’s largest manufacturer of satellites as well as satellite systems and components, listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) has joined the White Rabbit Collaboration, a global initiative under the auspices of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). The Collaboration brings together entities developing the ultra-precise White Rabbit (WR) time synchronization technology used in systems requiring sub-nanosecond accuracy.

White Rabbit is an open-source technology designed to synchronize devices operating in distributed, often mission-critical networks with very high precision. Initially developed for use in large-scale research facilities such as particle accelerators. Today, it is increasingly being deployed in telecommunications, energy systems, and any environment where reliability and nanosecond-level accuracy are essential.

The technology has been standardized under IEEE 1588, confirming its maturity and compliance with international industry standards. It enables the deployment of large-scale fiber-optic time-distribution networks with multiple receivers, reducing the dependence of critical infrastructure on global satellite navigation systems such as GPS or Galileo. This, in turn, enhances the resilience of strategic services against disruptions and cyberthreats.

Joining the White Rabbit Collaboration places Creotech Instruments among the leading companies and institutions shaping the global standard for precise time and frequency synchronization. White Rabbit is a technology that allows critical systems to operate independently of GPS and other satellite systems, while providing synchronization accuracy approaching that of atomic standards. Its applications extend far beyond science: it currently supports the development of quantum key distribution (QKD), is increasingly adopted in next-generation telecommunications networks (5G and 6G), and is used in advanced industrial systems.

“This solution has enormous potential and is well on its way to becoming the global standard for time synchronization. At Creotech Instruments, we want to be actively involved in developing this breakthrough technology and contribute our expertise,” says Paweł Zienkiewicz, CTO of Creotech Instruments S.A. and Vice President of the Management Board of Creotech Quantum S.A.

By joining the White Rabbit Collaboration, Creotech Instruments gains access to an international forum for sharing expertise, technical support, and joint R&D projects with entities actively shaping the future of this technology. The company will be able to contribute to defining the development roadmap for WR and test its products in specialized laboratories, further enhancing their competitiveness in global markets.

The goal of the White Rabbit Collaboration is to build a platform for knowledge and experience sharing that enables all members to contribute to the development of the technology, propose new ideas and market-driven requirements, and promote its deployment. The Collaboration ultimately aims to establish White Rabbit as the global synchronization standard for the most demanding applications.

Once the ongoing demerger of Creotech Instruments S.A. is finalized, all projects related to White Rabbit technology will be continued under Creotech Quantum S.A.
