A key player in the European DeepTech market and a leading Polish space technology company, Creotech Instruments S.A., has signed the largest contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) to date — a landmark €52 million agreement for the CAMILA (Country Awareness Mission in Land Analysis) satellite constellation. Under the contract, Creotech will provide a national constellation of at least three Earth observation satellites along with dedicated ground infrastructure. The contract also includes satellite launch services and the conduct of full-scale missions. This is a significant milestone not only for Poland’s rapidly growing space sector, but also for Europe’s strategic autonomy in satellite technology.

The contract signing ceremony was held at the Royal Castle in Warsaw in Poland during the 3rd ESA Security Conference (April 14-15). The prestigious event was attended by ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher, ESA’s Director of Earth Observation Programs Simonetta Cheli, Polish Deputy Minister of Development and Technology Michał Baranowski, government officials, Members of the European Parliament, and key representatives from Poland’s space sector. Creotech Instruments was represented by its President of the Management Board (CEO) Grzegorz Brona, PhD.

Ten years ago, Creotech Instruments developed an ambitious strategy to become Europe’s next major space mission integrator and prime contractor. In December 2024, we signed our first major contract to deliver a complete satellite system for the Polish Armed Forces under the MIKROGLOB program. Today’s agreement is another milestone of similar scale, fulfilling the vision we set a decade ago.

The implementation of such an ambitious program as CAMILA is made possible by the strategic decisions of the Polish government to support the domestic space sector. Programs like CAMILA, MIKROGLOB, and the upcoming spaceflight of Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski to the International Space Station in May 2025 are the direct outcome of this commitment.
