HyperSat Seagull

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) High-resolution EO

Seagull Creotech
A SAR satellite on the HyperSat Seagull platform for Earth Observation missions where standard optical imaging cannot provide full continuity: maritime monitoring, change detection, crisis management support, and continuous observation in severe weather and night-time conditions. Complements the Nano and EagleEye optical satellites in a mixed constellation and provides support in strategic decision making. Gen 1.0 in development now.Soveregin SAR Earth Observation at up to 3–5 m GSD, independent of daylight and cloud cover.

  • Strip-map

  • ScanSAR

  • Interferometry

Spectral bands

  • X-band

Performance

Spotlight mode

Assumptions

All values assume 500 km altitude, SSO, incident angles between 20 and 40 degrees.

  • Ground Resolution: • 5 m (using Ground Control Points)

  • Geolocation accuracy: 5 m (using Ground Control Points)

  • Communication standards: CCSDS, PUS-C, S-band for TT&C, X-band for data, optional incorporation of Optical Intersatellite Link (OISL); Encryption: AES-256, SDLS-compliant; Uplink: S-band, 128 kbps; Downlink: S-band up to 1Mbps / X-band up to 500 Mbps

Data volume and latency

  • Daily imaging rate: 5 data takes per orbit (Spotlight); over 600 kilometers continuous imaging (Stripmap)

  • Data latency: typically ~90 minutes over Europe (depends on ground-station locations)
