On 20 December 2024, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defence, the State Treasury – Armament Agency signed a contract with Creotech Instruments S.A. for the delivery of a Satellite Earth Observation System under the MIKROGLOB program.
The contract aims to enhance the reconnaissance capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces through satellite-based optoelectronic Earth observation systems.
The total contract value is approximately PLN 556.7m gross. The satellites are scheduled for launch and are expected to reach low Sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) by 2027.
Under the contract, the Polish Armed Forces will acquire four microsatellites based on Creotech’s HyperSat platform, equipped with optical instruments capable of capturing and transmitting Earth imaging data to the ground segment in both near-infrared and visible light spectrums.
The ground segment will consist of two key components: Mission Control and Image Data Processing. Mission Control will facilitate two-way communication with the satellites, managing telemetry and imagery data received via ground stations. This data will then be processed by the specialized Image Data Processing Segment.
Further details of the contract and system specifications remain classified.
