PIAST satellite constellation in orbit

PIAST-Creotech

On 29 November 2025, a Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched the PIAST (Polish ImAging SaTellites) satellite constellation into orbit. The PIAST project is a research and development program led by the Military University of Technology in consortium with Creotech Instruments, the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Institute of Aviation, Scanway, and PCO S.A.

Following orbital deployment, two-way communication was successfully established with all three satellites of the constellation: PIAST-M, PIAST-S1 and PIAST-S2. Initial telemetry data from the satellites’ subsystems has been received, confirming proper operation of key platform components.

All critical technologies implemented in the satellites were developed in Poland. The PIAST program is co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development. The project marks an important milestone in advancing national capabilities in satellite technology and Earth observation systems.
